Waterbury EMT Class

UConn Rescue, Inc. in partnership with the University of Connecticut Department of Allied Health Sciences is pleased to announce that in the Fall of 2024 the EMT training program will be offered at both the UConn Storrs Campus and the UConn Waterbury Campus for current UConn students!  There will be no Spring 2025 EMT Class at the UConn Waterbury Campus with plans for a Fall 2025 Class There.

This course is an entry level program that will train you to be an integral member of the pre-hospital team and provides instruction in basic life support skills such as CPR, airway management, treatment of bleeding and shock recognition. In addition, we will cover care for trauma victims, medical emergencies, OB/Gyn, and pediatrics. During the program you will be required to complete 10 patient contacts, separate from class time, at a hospital emergency department and at a local ambulance service.  Students will have assistance in scheduling and attending the emergency department and ambulance shifts.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to take the certification exam from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Successful completion of the exam is required to be certified as an EMT in Connecticut.

The examination fee for one practical exam is included in the cost of the program.
